I dont see anyone stopping them in the AFC. (other than injuries)

It'll be interesting, I think because of Brady/Patriots and even Manning what he was able to do year after year it kinda gets taken for granted just how hard that is.

Rodgers won it all in 2010, 2011 was his MVP year/team almost went undefeated. Going into the 2011 playoffs it just seemed like he was the man now, was going to be the king of the NFL for the next 10 years and then they got blitzed by the Giants in Lambeau and he's never been back to the big game. Couple NFC West teams that no one saw coming emerged the next few seasons. Football is just alot more fragile than a few of the recent legends suggest.

Still obviously make Chiefs favs in the AFC next year but most of the promising young QB's are in the AFC as well and at some point all those extra postseason games could start to add up and we may see a crash and burn. Not sure how sustainable Mahomes style is either, sandlot football can take its toll on you.

I don't see how a team who couldn't score a TD in the Big Game could possibly be favorites next year. That was serious dysfunction last night.

Kansas City is a highlight reel marquis. But in the trenches they only won one of their last eleven games by more than six points. They aren't as dominant as their highlight reels make them look like they are.

Not sure off the top of my head who is emerging but as PF said, there are a lot of very talented young QBs in the AFC right now in a league that seems to want to "let them play".

Defense is going to take on importance again. Disrupting the QB is more important now than ever as teams seem to want to leave the traditional non-qb running game behind. That includes Kansas City and you see what it got them yesterday.

Tampa just laid out the winning blueprint. On offense, have a balanced attack. On Defense, get to the QB.

Well done, Bucs. Congrats.

Everyone know pass rush beats any QB
Not Brady, not Montana, Not Mahomes wins with constant pressure
Easier said than done though
You usually need an elite front 4 to get pressure consistently
That has been around forever
How the Giants beat Brady

Mahomes turf toe surgery scheduled Wednesday was stopped Sunday :think2: wasn't much pregame talk. The million dollar plays were very sharp!

But you can slow down the pass rush with an effective running game coming from your running backs.

Kansas City was an imbalanced attack this year favoring the pass.

Here are their Playoff Running back carries and resultant yardage gained by those running backs:

Div /// Clev /// 15 carries // 84 yds
CC /// Buff /// 19 carries // 58 yds
SB /// TBy /// 16 carries // 59 yds

By contrast TBy in the SB:

SB /// KCy /// 28 carries // 140 yds

Play action is a lot more effective when your opponent needs to respect your running game. Kansas City beat lesser opponents by relying on the special skills of their players in the passing game despite every opponent knowing their game plan going into the games. But without an effective and persistent running back running game, the special Tampa pass rushing front four teed off on Mahomes rendering that offense almost ineffective.

Tampa laid the blueprint. Andy Reed needs to counter with a more balanced attack next year or the Chiefs will be beat again next year when the big game(s) come.

Tampa deserves to be the SB favorite for next year much before Kansas City. And I would never bet Kansas City to win it all. Someone else will emerge and use the Bucs blueprint.

Most pundits thought that the Chiefs were the heir apparent to the Patriot dynasty. I ain't buying it.
